Our salespeople need to be able to read upside down. That’s what I remember the business cartoon said. It was funny, but not in a ‘haha’ way; more in a nervous way - that hit too close to home. Too close to how I felt.

Check out today’s fast paced video where Dan tells a story about a cartoon he saw and how it applied to him and his ignorance and fear about timing and pricing cleaning. Then Dan explains all the things that are wrong/financially dangerous about focusing on ‘the other guy’s price’ WITHOUT knowing your time, price and company requirements.

It’s not enough that it’s true. Your marketing has to be MORE than that, do MORE than that. It has to be true as well as 1) grab the attention of your prospect and 2) position in their mind as different / better than your competitors in one or more big ways (important to them) and, finally, 3) inspire them to act.

Check out today’s fast paced video where Dan describes how today’s prospective clients need MORE than the old marketing ‘pitches’ to inspire them to choose one BSC over another. Then Dan gives 3 specific ways you can create more exciting, more meaningful marketing in your cleaning company – the kind that attracts and inspires.

There are times when what OTHER people think does matter. There are times when what YOU think is more important. The key is, that’s right – to know the difference.

Check out today’s fast paced video where Dan gives three important times when you may be tempted to get ‘off track’ by worrying too much about what other people think about your cleaning company – along with specific examples of each from running his own janitorial business. Let's get this out of the way right out of the gates....

Everyone is important in your company - everyone.

From the most part time cleaner to your most loyal, valued and experienced manager...

- each and every one of them determines what your company is to the marketplace, to your customers.

That's the truth.

And, finding, training, developing and retaining the very best team is, in many ways, the very foundation of a successful cleaning company.

But, but, but....that's not the whole story...

It’s tempting – to think of expense control when the topic of getting and staying profitable comes up. And, it is important. But, it’s not everything. Like so many things, the real strategies successful cleaning business owners use – effectively tackle the issue from both ends of the business, not just the cost side.

Check out today’s fast paced video where Dan simplifies the key strategies to keeping your cleaning business profitable into two big ‘pots’ – the first one, most people are familiar with and think of quickly. The other is just as important, but is often misunderstood. Dan explains why the strategy is just as important for companies who are content not to grow as much as those who are committed to growth.

I'm pretty sure you would answer with a confident - Absolutely! to the question of whether you would hire your cleaning company.

What I'm not so sure about is WHY you would answer yes, if I asked the question a different way....

Like this...

Why would you hire your company rather than the other competitors in your market?

Now, that's a tougher question, isn't it?

Don't feel bad if the question set you back in your chair for a moment scrambling to come up with a solid reason.

It's normal - but, normal doesn't mean it's good for your cleaning business.

Here's the thing....

People like to boast. It’s natural. But, you when you hear a cleaning business owner talking about how they never lose a cleaning account, adding it’s because of their incredible cleaning, people and customer service, don’t get jealous. Often, it’s mostly just that – talk, and by the way, actually misses the really important keys to building a successful cleaning company altogether.

Check out today’s fast paced video where Dan explains how the very thing well intentioned but often inexperienced or misguided cleaning business owners can be heard bragging about, may actually be a clear indication of an important weakness in their operation - rather than its strength.

When you go in to fix a problem in your cleaning business...

Go in KNOWING:

Knowing WHAT you want to solution to do BEYOND simply fixing the problem.

but, ultimately more rewarding.

For many (not all) owners of cleaning companies, the best answer is  -

one where, once the plan/solution is put in place, they are NOT needed to keep the problem fixed.

But, you often wouldn't know it.

In an effort to say MORE while saying less....  the THIS I'm talking about is..

- an OBJECTIVE look at your operation.

Disappointed?   Well, don't be.

While the suggestion may not be the most exciting to HEAR, it CAN produce exciting results.   Things you, as a cleaning business owner, will really notice and value.

Plus, this doesn't have to be a formal process, especially at first.

And, you don't even have to be good at it.

Nope, the very act of  trying to objectively look at your cleaning company will often....
